"NHA Codes and Standards Workshop Goes Hollywood!"
The National Hydrogen Association held its latest semi-annual Hydrogen Safety, Codes and Standards Workshop in Hollywood California on April 29, in conjunction with their 15th Annual Hydrogen Conference and H2Expo USA.

44 people participated in the interactive dialog on current issues facing those developing and permitting hydrogen energy projects, including pending and planned future modifications to US model codes, hydrogen quality for fuel cell vehicles, and perception issues regarding hydrogen leak detection methods. For an attendee list, please click here (118Kb PDF).

Karen Hall delivers opening remarks at the NHA's Hydrogen Safety Codes and Standards Workshop in Los Angeles, California.

Resources for additional information for project planners, permitting officials, and other interested parties were also described. These include the new permitting guides for regulators, which currently cover stationary fuel cells and hydrogen vehicle refuelling stations, resources available from the California Fuel Cell Partnership, and websites including www.fuelcellstandards.com and www.hydrogensafety.info.

Click on any of the links below for the presentations that were delivered during the workshop. Click here for more information on the issue of hydrogen detection methods. If you know of any published reports on odorants for hydrogen applications, please send the information to Karen Hall at hallk@hydrogenassociation.org

The NHA would also like to recognize its sponsors: U.S. Department of Energy and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration for their generous sponsorships of the workshop.

The next NHA Hydrogen Safety, Codes and Standards Workshop is being planned for September 2004, possibly in California. If you are interested in hosting a future NHA Workshop, or would like to see a specific issue addressed at a future workshop, please email your ideas to Karen Hall at hallk@hydrogenassociation.org.
