ICC Ad Hoc Hydrogen Committee Update
by Karen Hall
Vice President, Technical Operations of the
National Hydrogen Association

The ICC Ad Hoc Committee on Hydrogen Gas has been busy preparing proposals for code changes for the 2004/2005 code change cycle.

Many of these proposed changes are clarifications to previous changes or cleanup for consistency. Some, however, do include technical changes. For example, the proposal to IFC 3204.4.2 proposes a change for storage tank location. The distance from any part of the tank to the nearest lot line will be changed from “not less than 3 feet” to “not less than 10 feet”. The new proposals, which include justification for the proposed change, can be accessed at: http://www.iccsafe.org/cs/cc/h2g/index.html
