Metal Hydride Classification

The Canadian proposal for the classification of "hydrogen in a metal hydride storage system," has been formally submitted to the UN Sub-Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, and the proposal will be voted on at the next meeting, December 2-6, 2002.

The proposal includes an information annex provided by Ned Stetson of Texaco Ovonics Hydrogen Systems, which describes the flammability characteristics of hydrogen over various states of charge and is publicly available on the UNTDG web site.
